Caption: Mr. Carl Rungius is one of the best known painters of animal life in this country. His pictures of American big game are enduring records of the life and environment of species that are fast vanishing or will survive for the future only in parks and preserves. His work is based on studies made in the field and not confined to zoological parks. He has traveled much in the Rockies and Alaska and is a naturalist as well as an artist.
