IllustrationCountry Life in America 5, no. 1 (November 1903), illustrated p. 68, detail reproduced in advertisement for Outing Magazine.
Although this was an illustration for "When the Rise is On," in Outing Magazine in December, 1906, it originally appeared in print as an advertisement for Outing Magazine in the magazine Country Life in America, November, 1903. I don't know if the Emerson Hough article was actually written in 1903 and held back for some reason?
