DescriptionOne grizzly bear runs slow a mountain side toward the viewer, leaping over a downed log.Curatorial Remarks
Although this was an illustration for "When the Rise is On," in Outing Magazine in December, 1906, it originally appeared in print as an advertisement for Outing Magazine in the magazine Country Life in America, November, 1903. I don't know if the Emerson Hough article was actually written in 1903 and held back for some reason?
Anderson Galleries 1923 catalogue description: Original wash drawing of a Bear in the wilds, leaping from a log across a stream.
