Robert SeabeckUnited States, born 1945

Robert Seabeck is a Wyoming native whose art career began at age twelve. He received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at California State College, Long Beach, and a Masters of Fine Arts at the University of Wyoming. The intense sky, bright, clear colors, and wide-open spaces of Wyoming have influenced his painting, which ranges from domestic scenes and still life images to wildlife and automobiles portrayed in a highly focused style. Throughout his career, Seabeck has explored other forms of artistic expression as well, including etching, monotypes, and three-dimensional work.

For several summers, Seabeck has demonstrated painting at the Buffalo Bill Historical Center in Cody, Wyoming. He has also painted and demonstrated at the National Museum of Wildlife Art. In addition to these experiences, Seabeck accepted a commission from the City of Cheyenne, Wyoming in 1999 to create a large-scale public sculpture depicting Canada geese. Seabeck's work is featured in a variety of private and public collections including the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Museum in Wausau, Wisconsin and the El Paso Museum of Art, El Paso, Texas. Currently residing in Laramie, Wyoming, the artist has recently spent time illustrating books.
