This is one of three paintings that was commissioned by Arthur H. Harlow. Mr. Harlow's company, Arthur H. Harlow and Company, New York, was the chief representative of Rungius's paintings for over 30 years. The triptych hung in Harlow's New York brownstone apartment until after his death in 1952 when it was dispersed with the sale of Harlow's estate. The three pieces were reunited in the NMWA in 1990.
