DescriptionA bull moose holding a glass toasts a bear sitting on the left. "The Bear-Tender" Logo for a private dining club called The Room. See note below and extra image attached. Curatorial Remarks
This drawing appears to have been owned by Carla Peters, friend of Kermit Roosevelt. The Moose Toasting the Bear was used as the crest of a private dining club (speakeasy) called "The Room" in New York between 1932-1938. Roosevelt had the crest engraved on his cup at the club (photo attached to this record).
