DescriptionBow divide. Snow covered mountain peaks with sun shining on them.Curatorial Remarks
The former owner of this painting is painter George M. Bruestle (American, 1871-1939). Bruestle worked at the same time as Rungius, perhaps in the same circle as Gardner Symons, an acknowledged influence on Rungius. Bruestle handled elements of the landscape in quick daubs of paint, in an impressionistic fashion. Rungius began to paint similarly as his style developed in the years between 1910 and 1920.
